February Reviews
February 18th, 2010These are some of the comments our guests left in the journal in their rooms. We love our guests!!!!
Thank you Becky, Esther and Tony! Our stay with you, while short, was nothing less than wonderful. The cleanliness and simple elegance was wonderfully complemented by your genuine warm hospitality. I felt as though I was visiting a sister who happened to own an early 20th century Victorian home. While Bok Gardens took our breath away, you all gently gave it back in the evenings.
Thank you, Eddy & Bibi, Miami
While Eddy wrote for us 2 pages back….. I would like to add how much we loved your delicious recipes for breakfast – yummy! And we would like to wish you much success on your “Tea Room” opening! We had an amazing Valentines Weekend “getaway”!
Thank you again! We will come back soon! Bibi & Eddy, Miami
Thank you for a wonderful stay in the Azalea Room. This room was so comfortable that Jim took a nap right away! Beautiful décor, delicious food & charming hosts! Thanks for everything!
Jim & Rita, Bartow
Happy Valentine’s Day to us! The Victoria Rose Room provided a very romantic and most memorable place to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We appreciated the warm hospitality of Becky & Tony. Breakfast was absolutely yummy! Thanks so much. We will be back!

Legoland Coming to Winter Haven!
January 28th, 2010We are only 20 minutes from the new Legoland! Here’s the news:
Merlin Entertainments Group, which bought the property earlier this year, rolled out its plan Thursday to reopen the theme park as Legoland Florida in late 2011.
With up to 50 new rides, shows and attractions, it will be the biggest of five Legolands worldwide. The park is packaged to entice parents and kids 2 to 12 years old to spend a day immersed in a world that revolves around plastic Lego bricks, one of the world’s most popular toys.
The plans include reopening the historic botanical garden that founders Dick and Julie Pope carved out of a cypress swamp in 1936 and fashioned into what was claimed to be Florida’s first theme park. The once-famous water ski shows could return in the form of a Lego-themed stunt show, and the park will get its own studio with a full-time staff of Lego model artists.
The centerpiece at Legoland Florida will be a town-square-sized hub with detailed, miniature replicas of cities, sites and people like the White House, Mount Rushmore and Abe Lincoln modeled from more than 40 million plastic Lego bricks.
